This picture of Jack Findlay on the veranda of his billet shows clearly the airing that was necessary to ensure that your Best Blue Uniform kept in good condition. If you just left it hanging in your personal locker for more than a week then, due to the very high humidity and temperatures on Gan, it would quickly absorb moisture and develop a mould growth. Regular airing outside and preferably in the sun was absolutely essential for all your clothes and footwear. |
